Hello and thank you for joining our Drive Clean Across Texas e-mail group. I hope you use this listserv as a means to ask questions, share ideas and success stories, and to learn what others are doing to clean up our air. We will also use this group to send out quarterly news from Drive Clean Across Texas.
We are pleased to introduce a new, educational air quality video "The Blue Skies of Texas." The 11-minute video explains in simple terms the transportation-related causes and consequences of air pollution in Texas and helps educate viewers about the things we can do to improve air quality and protect and preserve the blue skies of Texas. If you or your organization would like a copy of this video, please let us know.
Keep checking the "For Teachers" section of the Drive Clean Across Texas website for a new, exciting air quality curriculum. Lesson plans including worksheets, puzzles and games for K-5, 6-8 and 9-12 will be posted later this fall. In addition, the elementary education program will incorporate a new, clean air team of cartoon characters into several lesson plans and offer activities and downloadable worksheets. Children are an important group to reach in our air quality efforts—especially if we are to succeed in changing behaviors to make clean air choices. Help us spread the word by sharing this information with educators in your area.
Corpus Christi, Texas is one of 10 cities in the nation and the only city in Texas to boast the All-America City designation in 2003. Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Carol Scott said the city's clean air program was a clinching factor in the city's award. Read more about Corpus Christi and this award online.

Do you think the general public is concerned enough about our air quality problem to take action/responsibility for fixing this problem? If not, what can we do to create a greater concern or sense of responsibility in the public’s eye? If so, what actions are you seeing people take to help clean up the air? E-mail your thoughts to drivecleanacrosstexas@listserv.tamu.edu.
Thank you for your support of Drive Clean Across Texas.
